Blog 13 dear Santa
Four things I was naughty.
1. I was swearing too much to my friends and family this year which I regret and I sometimes punch my sister when she makes me really mad, which I should learn to control my anger because it’s not right to hit people you love .
2. Talking back to my parents and yelling at them. I get frustrated sometimes when my parents talk sometimes to me because sometimes words slip out of my mouth and say what the hell you are talking about.
3. Lighting illegal fireworks at a park one fourth of July. One fourth of July me and my dad bought big fireworks like mortars, repeaters roman candles and other good stuff.
4. My last thing I did naughty was stealing a lighter at 7-11 when I was like 8 or 9 years old. I don’t know why the heck I stole a lighter but it was not very smart of me to do that.
Four things I was nice about.
1. Helping a neighbor shovel snow when they are on vacation or if they need help.
2. Getting good grades in school and not getting into trouble in school.
3. Giving gifts to family and relatives that I love so much.
4. Hanging out with my 5 year old cousin every year around Christmas time.
My successes and failures this year
This year I have been getting good grades and making new friends at my new school which is Stevenson high school. Also I have been trying to be independent in my studies and try to figure out things by myself and to understand how the work is done.
My failures are understanding some of the math because each day the math assignments get harder each day I come in school each day. Really so far I’ve hadn’t had any failures except I didn’t do well on a few exams this year.
I feel that I deserve a few things for Christmas, like some money to put in my bank account. Also a nice guitar like a Gibson sg that look’s really nice because one of my favorite guitar players uses a Gibson sg. Those are the two things that I would like for Christmas.

BLOG 12 – home sweet home
In ten years my plan would be to own a home in Sacramento, California area. I would work in a job that pays well and I would live in this home on my own. Eventually, I would like to adopt a large dog to live in this modest but well designed home. The back yard would probably be small but big enough for my dog to run. I really like warm weather and being outside. Some of my family lives in Sacramento and it would be nice to live near family. The only thing I do not like is that it is expensive to live there.
My payments per month would be about -

Blog 11 - Brandon Weber’s Plans for the Upcoming 5-Day Holiday
I have several plans for my 5-day Thanksgiving holiday. The biggest event is going to be having Thanksgiving dinner at my Aunt Susan’s house. At this dinner, I get to see most of family that I have not seen in a while. My Aunt Susan is an excellent cook and I love her cooking. I love the smell and taste of the golden turkey, spicy Italian Sausage stuffing, and sweet strawberry pretzel Jell-O.
At dinner, I will probably sit at the same table as my sister Brittany, cousins Lisa and Kevin, and Kevin’s girlfriend Jenny. We usually talk about school, shopping and anything else that came to mind. After dinner, I will watch the football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders. This should be a good game and I hope that the Dallas Cowboys win since they are my most favorite football team.
Another important plan that I have during my time off from school is to get more practice driving a car. I am currently enrolled in a driver’s education class and will be driving over the weekend. I am feeling a little nervous but I am sure that I will do just fine since I did pretty well last time I drove. My driver’s education class will be over in a few weeks.
Two other important things that I plan to do this weekend are to start my Christmas shopping and practice the guitar. I will probably go to the Twelve Oaks shopping mall and brose EBay for things to buy. Saturday my Guitar Instructor will continue teaching me the guitar. I am still working on learning the Chords but I am starting to learn a Jimi Hendrix song called Voodoo Child. I have a lot to learn but I am having fun learning.

Education and Training - Craftsperson
1. What kind of degree or certification do you need?
No real educational requirements are needed; however, a high school diploma is recommended and specific training or an apprenticeship in the area of interest is needed. Most craftspeople study crafts in college and get a degree. This helps crafts person to better understand the history of their crafts, as well as techniques.
2. What in-state schools offer the programs that you need?
Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Michigan is a two-year college that offers courses and a program in the arts. Most community colleges also offer courses (such as Schoolcraft College)
3. How long does it take to get the necessary training?
The necessary training for a Craftsperson will depend on the type of craft. Some crafts take a year to master, others many more years.
4. How much does it cost to get the necessary education and training?
Classes at Lake Michigan College cost $142.00 per credit hour; Training is usually provided by the employer and is hands on.

A Craftsperson can make anything like welded art, shoe repair, specialized car parts, and leather goods.

Many Crafts persons work long hours and are self employed. Much of their time is spent working with their hands and spending long periods of time standing or sitting. Many Crafts persons work at home or in private studios.
Reflection - Craftsperson
After investigating more about Crafts persons, I have decided that this not the career for me. What I dislike about this career is that you have to work long hours and not get much pay for it. Additionally, many Crafts persons work out of their home or even alone. I want to work as part of a team. The future need of a Craftsperson is not that good and I think it would be hard to get a job as a Craftsperson. The pay is what really concerns me and I could provide for a family with such low pay. The one thing that I would like about being a Craftsperson is that you can determine your own hours and that you can be very creative in your work. For me, this type of job would be a part time hobby.

After investigating more about Manufacturing Machine Operators, I have decided that this not the career for me. What I dislike about this career is that it involves a lot of repetitive work. After a while, I would think that this would be every boring. The pay is not enough to support a family on and it is my understanding that many manufacturing jobs are moving out of the country. I am very surprised that so many of these jobs are moving out of the country. It is my understanding that our country was built on manufacturing jobs. I think that having experience in being able to build and repair cars and other items around the house is a very good skill to have.

The two interests that I have are to become either a Manufacturing Machine Operator or a Craftsperson. I would like to become a Manufacturing Machine Operator for several reasons. I very much enjoy understanding how things work and like working with tools. I have always loved fast cars and my father works at Ford Motor Company. I think it would be great to be part of the team that puts together a car. I would also be able to understand how my job helps build a car. At this point in my life, I can prepare for a career as a Manufacturing Machine Operator by doing well in school and become a mature adult. Additionally, I can prepare myself for this type of career by becoming more familiar with various tools, machinery and helping my father tune up the family car. I can also get more hands on experience by taking Automotive Technology and Service classes at Stevenson.
I also have interest in making up my own designs and building what I have designed. I love classic muscle cars from the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. I think the designs of these cars are better than the cars we have today. I also feel that this type of career will help me find better ways of making things. By being a creative craftsman, I can make things that you will not find at the store. I feel that I can prepare myself today for a career as a Craftsman by doing well in school and taking classes such as Computer Design, Art, Welding and Geometry at school.

why do we have halloween
Why do we have Halloween?
A New Year, a man Celts believed, marked summer’s end, harvest time, and the start of dark, cold winter months. Those winter months were associated with the dead by people. On October 31, the night before the New Year, the Celts celebrated Samhain. This day, they believed, was when the ghosts of the deceased returned to earth because the boundaries between the living world and the dead world blurred.
When we think of “Trick-Or-Treating", the origins can probably be found in the English All Souls’ Day parades. During these celebrations, the poor would come out and begged for food from the more wealthy families. When the families gave them pastries and other foods they asked for the poor to pray for their relatives that have died.
Another possibility that may have grown into “Trick-Or-Treating" is the tradition of people leaving bowls of food in front of their homes. They did this to keep the ghosts that were wandering the earth from entering.
Dressing in costumes in different designs to frighten people. It was cold, it was darker, and the possibility of running out of food was great.
When they reached the time when they thought the dead returned, they thought they might encounter these ghosts whenever they left their houses. The wearing of masks and costumes grew from these people donning masks so the ghosts would not recognize them!
This holiday was brought to the US by Scotch and Irish immigrants in the 1800s. At that time, much of the “spookiness" of the holiday was removed and a sense of community and fun were added. Although scary themes are still the focus of many Halloween celebrations, that scariness is done for fun, not because of actual fear. Halloween is currently the 2nd largest commercial holiday!

A Perfect Day
If tomorrow morning I knew I had 24 hours to live, I would do the following things. I would like to see my family, cousins, aunts, uncles and pets before I die. My family is very important to me because we enjoy spending time together. If I had time, I would like to see my Uncle Herman one last time in California because it was so different and exciting there. I would like to see the market place again in California because they had interesting things to see. I would like to visit the beach in California because body builders worked out on the beach daily and it was amazing to see.
I would like to hear my mom in the kitchen making my favorite foods. The sound of the pots and pans used and the dishes placed on the table is a great sound to hear. When I hear, the dishes placed on the table I know that we will be eating soon. I would like to hear my guitar teacher play purple haze on my electric guitar because he sounds just like Jimmy Hendrix. My parents like hearing me play my electric guitar because I am learning many different songs.
The next thing I would like to have is one more Thanksgiving dinner before I die. My Aunt Sue makes Thanksgiving dinner every year and the wonderful smell coming from her kitchen makes you want to eat all day. My favorite smell is the pumpkin pies coming out of the oven. If the weather is nice outside, we like to open the windows to get some fresh air. I would miss the summer and fall evenings when our family would have bonfires. We all would smell of smoke and eat too many smores.
I would like to have one more Christmas dinner with my parents and relatives because we like to taste all the dishes my mom has prepared. Later in the evening, after we play board games my mom serves spice cake, which makes our house smell like an apple orchard.
My family likes going to a Chinese restaurant, which happens to be an all you can eat buffet near our home. I like tasting some of the seafood especially the sushi. The raw sushi is not something that I like because it tastes to fishy. Twice a month my family likes to eat Mexican food because it is usually hot and spicy.
I will miss my moms fleece blankets because they are warm and soft. The last day of my life, I will spend as much time with my cat. My cat is beautiful because she has soft long grey fur and bright green eyes. She follows me because I feed her dry cat food that is chicken flavor. Once we tried to feed her soft cat food but she refused to eat it.

I hope in ten years I will be a certified auto mechanic and in a good paying job. Several years ago, I realized my Uncle Rick owns and works on his performance car. My uncle told me working on cars has always been fun. I really enjoy talking about cars with my friends and family. My parents bought me several car books when I was younger that I have read many times. I never get tired of reading and talking about cars. When I get my certification, I would help my family and friends with fixing their cars. I realize my idea of becoming a mechanic means a lot of hard work but I think this would be a fun job. My plan is to go to school and then find a job in Michigan.
When I get a mechanic’s job, I would like to buy a house and a new car. I would have to purchase a lot of furniture and other things when I buy my house. When I move in, I would like to get two dogs for my home. I have always liked animals but dogs are my favorite. My family owns two cats and they are good pets but dogs are my first choice. The kind of dogs I would like to get would be two golden retrievers.
Another thing I would like to do is to travel to various places. One of my favorite places is California where my uncle Herman lives. I like the weather in California and really liked my visit to Disney Land. We ate at several fun places in California and shopped a lot. The second place I like a lot is Florida because of there warm weather and there great water parks and stores.

brandon's paper
I like to communicate by talking to my new and old friends in school. We discuss what homework is due and what we need to do to complete the assignment. Some of the other ways I communicate is by talking to them in person, writing emails and using my cell phone. Another way is when I am allowed to play my computer game rune scape I came communicate with my friends while playing the game. This allows me to play my next game plays. My favorite way to communicate is by using my cell phone this allows me to call my friends and family from any place. I usually email my family because they live so far away from our family but this is a good way to keep in touch with my cousins.
I like to communicate by talking about school and how easy or how hard it is to do homework or what’s happening. Also I like to talk about music like rock n roll and metal.
Also I love talking about baseball, my favorite team is the Detroit tigers. The most fun I have is when we go to the game and we are able to see the plays first hand and can talk about the plays as they happen. I communicate all day whether it is in writing, person or on the phone.

brandon's blog
My first day of school was pretty good but really crowded in the hallway I mean crowded. So the first couple classes where good but tiring because I’m trying to wake up and to get up to earlier. After getting introduced by my teachers I went to lunch see where I could sit and I saw two of friends at lunch named Zack and Tim. We were talking about how each and every class went while we were eating our lunch. After the bell rang we all went to are lockers and went too are 6th hour which is last hour of the day. Then while I was searching for the gym I had to lope around the whole school to be able to locate where the gym. I finally found the gym after 10 minutes of looking so then I told my gym teacher sorry for being late but I couldn’t find the gym and she said its ok it’s your first day here so I said ok. After 1 hour of hearing the teacher talk, the bell rang and then I went to my locker to get stuff and to leave the school. Before I leave I have to wait at my locker for my sister to come over so I get a ride home. (212)
